BOAT HISTORY

This was the last boat made by J&S Fiberglass Specialties shortly before the molds being sold to Mike Leach in Orange, CA. The boat was originally built in 1982 for Bob Heston who later moved to St Petersburg, FL. It was nearly identical to Bill Tetro's record setting JS-78 Flyin High. Although the colors are different, the layout was the same and the boat set up had only minor differences. During the time Bob owned it, the boat was raced few times, occasionally driven by Dave Paraskevas with either Bob Heston or Roger Harris as riders. It was purchased in 1987 by Bill Tetro of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Bill kept the number 711 and renamed the boat Flyin High. Within a year the boat was once again sold, this time to Jim Buturla of North Lauderdale, FL who retained both the name and the number. Jim campaigned the boat for a few years with his son's Michael and Jimmy and also Roger Harris as riders. Jimmy went on to become the driver when Jim and Roger built a new boat from the same J&S molds used to build this boat. The molds were purchased from Mike Leach in the early nineties.
