1976 - PRESIDENTS CUP REGATTA - POTOMAC RIVER - WASHINGTON, DC PHOTO BY TOM KELLY
This was the first time in the water for the BLUE GOOSE, the first Skiff heat of the Presidents Cup Regatta. The boat had no previous test time and the engine had only fifteen minutes running time on the trailer. There were no inside adjustable cavitation plates allowed at that time so the plate set up had to be guessed prior to the race. Oh well, a little high, but for the unusually calm conditions on the Potomac that day, high is fast and low is slow. Good thing we weren't running in the back though.
